Provenance: according to Havergal Summary (in a supplementary entry for this item under shelfmark I.4.102.(B)), this copy was 'Presented by Rev: Jacob Ley, Librarian 1846. The original copy in the library having been lost.' It replaced the copy listed in Archives 1717, item F2, as 'Ravenscroft's Psalm Tunes'; there is an equivalent entry in Dowding (main hand), against which Havergal has written '(missing in 1844. H.E.H.)'. Evidently the original copy was removed from Christ Church after 1787, since there are still entries for it in Burney and Malchair; the missing volume has not yet been located in any other collection.

Upright format, 155 x 97 mm. Mid C19th binding of brown leather over boards, blind-tooled with fillets and diamond hatching. C19th shelfmark: I.4.102.(B).
